Nice to Meet you!
I’m Morgan!
Morgan Ward (they/them) is a Brooklyn based writer, podcaster, zine-maker, and overall internet person.
Their undergraduate thesis: “The Ruby Red Visor of Identification: Explorations of Girlhood in 21st Century Animation” earned them Summa Cum Laude by the University of Colorado Boulder. It was also awarded the Leah Kelly Memorial Award for Sociopolitical Film Writing in 2024.
They previously worked as a contributor for the LinkedIn Newsletter “Inside the Creator Economy,” (50k+ subscribers).
Their current written work can be found on their substack “Bones Syndrome” where they write about popular culture, film, literature, and Star Trek.
Their podcast, Mutant Studies 101, a serious/unserious podcast about X-Men and academia can be found wherever pods are cast.
Before they were a writer they were a (gross) social media personality, and they occasionally still share short form video content on tiktok @beakerbarnes (8k followers).
When they aren’t doing any of these things (which…rare…that’s a lot of things), you can find them taking care of their houseplants, walking their dog, or haunting the AMC Lincoln Center.
You can find them on Twitter and Instagram also @beakerbarnes.
